Portrait of Nathan Bleier

Nathan joined the University of Michigan in 2024 as an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science & Engineering division of the Electrical Engineering & Computer Science department.

Prior to joining Michigan, Nathan was a PhD student from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, advised by Rakesh Kumar, where his research focused on extending the reach of computing to new applications and domains with constraints that are not met by traditional computing platforms through the development of novel chips, architectures, and systems, including printed and flexible microprocessors and accelerators, low-power computer architectures targeting aural and olfactory sensing modalities, and system architectures for energy efficient server-based processing in Earth orbit.

Prior to his tertiary education, Nathan served as an infantryman in the United States Army. His decorations include the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Ranger Tab, and the Parachutist Badge.
